Daniel Burrus, renowned futurist and advisor on global innovation, will deliver a keynote speech at GS1 Connect 2016, the annual GS1 US conference and exhibit June 1-3 at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C.

Burrus is a strategic advisor to executives from Fortune 500 companies, helping them to develop game-changing strategies based on his proven methodologies for capitalizing on technology innovations and their future impact. He is the author of six books, including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal best seller Flash Foresight, as well as the highly acclaimed Technotrends. In his presentation “Business Process Transformation: The Big Ideas That Are Changing Everything,” Burrus will identify trends and technologies that will have a direct impact on participants and offer practical guidance for turning rapid change into a competitive advantage.

The keynote session and educational conference content will inspire attendees to “Unlock the Power of Standards” – a theme that conveys how business and industries are using GS1 Standards as the foundation for reinventing their business, adapting to market change, improving process efficiencies, and driving growth. With five distinct tracks—Retail, Healthcare, Foodservice, Grocery, and Standards and Solutions – GS1 Connect draws more than 1,200 attendees from various roles including supply chain management, product data management, data quality, compliance, e-commerce, marketing, and information technology.

“Trading partners gather at GS1 Connect to network and learn best practices for implementing standards within their companies. Whether their business goals are optimizing omni-channel retailing, addressing healthcare regulatory requirements, driving better food traceability and safety, or improving data quality, attendees will discover how GS1 Standards are rapidly becoming the cornerstone of business process innovation across organizations and entire industries. I believe Daniel Burrus will complement our conference program and further motivate attendees to reinvent their businesses while removing roadblocks in their operations,” said Bob Carpenter, president and CEO, GS1 US.

In addition to the five main conference tracks, GS1 US offers GS1 US University educational sessions and workshops for those looking to build their foundational knowledge of GS1 Standards and maximize the conference program. The conference will also feature “How to Do Business With” sessions hosted by major brands and retailers, as well as the popular Trading Partner Roundtables, the “Standardsville” exhibit area, and other various networking opportunities.
