“A place for everything and everything in its place,” is how B&G Equipment Company describes its new ultra-portable compact Technician Service Case. Unique to this new line of carry cases are the molded-in circular “cup holders” that hold aerosols, bulb dusters, and the B&G Accu-Spray (complete with holster), and keeps them from rolling loose around the case. The design can reduce or even eliminate the chaotic mess often found inside technician carry cases. Additional organization can be achieved with the literature holder in the rear of the case, in which labels, work orders, and a tablet computer can be placed for easy access, B&G said. The B&G Technician Service Case is smaller and more ergonomic in design, reflecting an industry need for smaller, more compact units. It is available in gray, black, blue, green, or red and can be ordered with your company name imprinted on the front. The case also is available without the “cup holders” for those who want a smaller carry case. For more information, call 800-544-8811, ext.102.
PolyConversions, Inc.

PolyConversions, manufacturers of VR Protective Wear, has introduced its PolyWear Personal Protective Disposable Gown. Designed to replace poly aprons and sleeves that are disposed of after a single use, PolyWear provides protective coverage while reducing the “donning and doffing” time of two sleeves and an apron. PolyWear disposable gowns feature full-length, open-back design incorporating a tear-away feature for quick and easy removal. A contoured thumb loop secures gown sleeves under the employee’s protective glove. One-piece construction with a single heat-sealed seam behind its sleeves reduces the potential for “pass-through” of fluids and other contaminants, the company explained. PolyWear gowns are made of lightweight, linear low polyethylene, available in three sizes: regular, large, and extra large. Two material textures are offered: smooth and embossed, and six colors: light blue, opaque white, yellow, red, green, and pink. PolyWear gowns are individually folded and packaged bulk or in compact dispenser boxes.

IFS
www.ifs-certification.com
IFS PACsecure, a certification standard for primary and secondary packaging materials, has officially achieved bench-marking to the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). The standard is available for a free download at www.ifs-certification.com. On December 20th, 2013, GFSI announced that its Board of Directors had accepted the benchmark committee’s recommendation for approval of IFS PACsecure. The standard, a collaboration between IFS Management and The Packaging Association (PAC), is designed to provide high-level safety and quality certification for food packaging material converters. The GFSI benchmark approval ensures that any global stakeholder—retailer or manufacturer—requiring certification to a GFSI-benchmarked standard will accept IFS PACsecure as one of those standards. Originally developed in North America by The Packaging Association, the IFS PACsecure standard is the product of more than 100 U.S. and Canada-based converters of food contact and secondary packaging materials, food processors, packaging industry suppliers and consultants, as well as government authorities.

J.F. Oakes has introduced its new Multi-Species Monitoring Trap for the Redlegged Ham Beetle, Hide Beetle, Varied and Black Carpet Beetles. The trap contains a multi-food attractant for the redlegged ham and hide beetles, plus pheromones for the varied and black carpet beetles. The monitoring trap in this product is the same type as in the XLure R.T.U. Beetle Floor Trap. The trap is reusable, and recharge kits are available. These insects are major pests in pet retail facilities where meat-related products have been dried through evaporation or long-term storage. They also infest shipments of bone meal, fish meal, cheese, garlic and coconuts. The larvae often infest bone and dog biscuits in factories and various retail outlets.
