2018 NSF Canadian Food Safety Awards Applications Open

Awards will be presented at NSF's biennial signature Food Trends Forecast event on Nov. 15.


An independent panel of food industry experts will evaluate all nominations to determine the award recipients. NSF is pleased to announce the 2018 Selection Committee:  

Tom Graham, Independent Consultant & Retired CFIA Director ; Susan Abel, Vice President, Safety & Compliance, Food & Consumer Products of Canada ; Carmine (Carmen) DeRenzis, Director, Quality Assurance & Food Safety, Canada Bread Company Limited ; Don Lacey, Private Consultant ; Dr. Trevor Smith, Quality Integration Solutions ; Keith Warriner, Professor, University of Guelph, Department of Food Science.

 One winner will be recognized in each of the following award categories: 

  • 2018 NSF Canadian Food Safety Excellence Award recognizes a company, designated site or facility with a proven commitment from the senior level management down to performance and continuous improvement in supply chain management and facility conditions.
  • 2018 NSF Canadian Food Safety Leadership Award is presented to an individual who drives food safety excellence within a company or within the food and beverage industry in general, and inspires others through their passion and actions.
  • 2018 NSF Canadian Food Safety Allied Trade Award recognizes a Canadian organization whose innovative products or services have helped the food and/or beverage industry achieve greater levels of food safety.
