SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Food Safety Net Services (FSNS) announced the appointment of Dr. Alex Brandt as Director of Technical Services.
“We are extremely delighted to welcome Alex to our company. He is a talented scientist who will bring strong customer service and technical knowledge to our clients,” said John Bellinger, FSNS CEO.
In his new position, Dr. Brandt will assist customers with development of challenge studies, validation studies, and other custom research. Dr. Brandt will also provide outreach, customer trainings, technical troubleshooting, and regulatory guidance as a part of his role for FSNS.
Dr. Brandt is a May 2014 graduate of Texas Tech University where he earned his Doctorate in Animal Science with a focus on Food Microbiology and Safety. His dissertation research was performed under the direction of Dr. Kendra Nightingale, which employed a combined approach of environmental sampling, molecular subtyping, and statistical analysis.
Dr. Brandt also has a keen interest in molecular/rapid testing methodology and molecular subtyping, and was a teaching assistant for multiple Molecular Methods in Food Microbiology Workshops during his tenure at Texas Tech and Colorado State University. He earned both a Masters and Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Technology from Texas A&M University.
