Global Drain Technologies (GDT), a manufacturer of drainage solutions, highlights the importance of hygiene and the positive impact of sanitary drainage systems in food processing facilities through a range of products. GDT’s FoodSafe brand includes a lineup of products engineered to meet the stringent requirements of food and beverage processing plants. Among these are the Slot Dog, Slot Hog, Cleaning Brushes and the Tamper-Proof Magnetic Strainer — each built to enhance food safety through drainage and sanitation systems.
As recent food safety concerns, including outbreaks and facility audits, heighten the focus on hygiene and contamination prevention, GDT’s range of FoodSafe drainage products offers solutions to maintain cleanliness and minimize risks in food processing environments. The Slot Dog offers a solution for cleaning Slot Drains directly. With its quick-release mechanism, it connects hoses directly to GDT’s FoodSafe Slot Drain, preventing liquids from spilling over facility floors. Its engineered nozzle, crafted from stainless steel, disperses a spray pattern that cleans the interior of the drain. This feature ensures that standing water, a potential breeding ground for contaminants, is removed.
The Slot Hog, another product in GDT’s portfolio, funnels liquid directly into the drain, creating a dry, more sanitary processing environment. Its tri-clamp connection allows it to be positioned at any point along the Slot Drain. Its stainless-steel construction ensures that it withstands extreme water temperatures.
GDT’s Cleaning Brush, designed with a flexible head, provides a tool for maintaining cleanliness within the drain system. These brushes, when combined with the Flush-Flo system, ensure that all areas of the drain are cleaned, said GDT.
The Tamper-Proof Magnetic Strainer is designed to act as a secondary strainer in catch basins and area drains, preventing unwanted materials from entering the drain system. Its magnetic lock and key system ensures only authorized personnel can access the strainer. With built-in compliance with NSF/ANSI/3-A standards, this strainer also features a food-safe design with no niches or sharp corners, further minimizing the risk of bacterial growth, said GDT.
