The science of food safety is constantly evolving. That’s why the Alliance to Stop Foodborne Illness (a division of STOP Foodborne Illness) is looking to reward the energy and smarts of the next generation — those dedicated to advancing food safety culture and technology.
Launched in 2023, “40 Under 40” is an annual initiative of the Alliance to Stop Foodborne Illness, which highlights 40 up-and-coming food safety professionals from across the world.
The second annual "40 Food Safety Professionals Under 40" celebrates the rising stars shaping the future of food safety.
The nomination form went live on Friday, June 7. Nominations close June 30 at 11:59 p.m. Some nomination guidelines include:
• Nominees must be between 18 and 39 years old (as of June 30, 2024)
• Nominees must have made significant contributions to food safety and food safety culture in their respective fields
• Self-nominations are warmly welcome
A completed application consists of a resume and a brief cover letter. The cover letter should outline specific examples of the nominee’s contributions to food safety and food safety culture (including any relevant awards, recognition, or measurable results) and how the candidate demonstrates leadership potential.
Honorees will be notified of their selection in mid-July and officially announced in early August on social media.
