As we wrap up 2020, and look toward 2021, I have been reflecting on the changes we have seen during the last 10 months as a result of the pandemic. Not only how it has affected our markets, but society as a whole. Businesses have worked tirelessly to adapt to this “new normal” and provide a safe place for their employees to work. Families have had to become accustomed to a new way of life both at home and at work. The healthcare system and its workers have been strained beyond anything I have seen in my lifetime. These are only a few examples of a much larger picture.
While we all look forward to life getting back to some sort of normality, sooner rather than later, I feel it is important to remember that we are all in this together. Nowhere is this unity more apparent than within the food processing industry. That’s why I want to thank you, our readers. You have continued to be essential through all of this and have worked tirelessly to ensure the health of your employees and the safety of our nation’s food supply. For that you should be commended. We are proud to serve such a dedicated group of industry professionals.
As we plan for next year, QA has made some changes. Since the launch of Quality Assurance & Food Safety magazine (QA), Editor Lisa Lupo has been an essential part of our group. As some of you know from her Viewpoint column in the September/October issue, Lisa has accepted a new position with The Acheson Group. We wish her the best and appreciate all that she has done to make QA the most valued and trusted media resource in the market. Lisa has graciously agreed to stay on as an Advisory Board member, so we will still have the pleasure of working with her in the future. Thank you Lisa, for all that you have done for QA magazine! It has truly been a pleasure to work with you for so many years.
As a result of this change, we are excited to introduce a new addition to QA magazine. Jason Brill, a veteran journalist and talented writer, accepted the position of Senior Editor for QA magazine in December. With more than 10 years of editorial experience working in magazines and various custom media, Jason will bring a fresh perspective to QA magazine, our e-newsletters, social media platforms, and virtual events, as well as our website (www.qualityassurancemag.com). He’s looking forward to getting know all of you. To contact Jason with press releases or story ideas, please don’t hesitate to contact him at jbrill@gie.net. He will look forward to hearing from you.
With the addition of Jason, we will be expanding our service offerings in the months and years ahead as we take advantage of both new and existing opportunities in the marketplace. QA magazine will keep you posted as we roll out some of these new initiatives in the coming year. In the meantime, best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season.
