Austin, Texas-based Alchemy Systems has launched three new online courses to help food manufacturers learn to identify, correct, and prevent problems on the processing floor. The courses – Root Cause Analysis, Corrective and Preventive Action, and Statistical Process Control, are available through Alchemy Academy, an online training portal for food industry professionals.
Alchemy’s expert instructors use their decades of processing-floor experience to share practical approaches and valuable tools so manufacturers can conduct corrective and preventive action root cause analysis, the company said. As with all of Alchemy Academy’s online courses, these can be taken on demand, enabling learners to set their own pace while saving on travel time and costs. The courses can be purchased individually and taken at the learner’s convenience:
- Root Cause Analysis: This course trains safety and quality professions to meet the GFSI requirement to include evidence that a Root Cause Analysis and a CAPA process is completed when there is a nonconformity in food safety and quality. Root Cause Analysis training is also recommended by the American Society for Quality (ASQ), SQF, BRC, and FSSC 22000.
- Corrective and Preventive Action: This course trains teams on the CAPA process so they can identify and prevent the identified issues from recurring. The course tackles how to address deviations and deficiencies in food safety and quality systems.
- Statistical Process Control: This course covers the practical methods to monitor operations to maintain the consistency of products and keep manufacturing processes under control. Food processors can learn techniques to detect problems at the earliest stage, prevent them from becoming bigger issues down the line, and drive continuous improvement.
“Food safety and quality professionals have struggled with getting training on the analytical tools they need to address GFSI’s requirements around non-conformities and continuous improvement,” said Alchemy Vice President of Consulting Jeff Chilton. “These courses provide practical training in a food processing facility context so that learners can apply the training right away.”
In addition to the RCA, CAPA, and SPC courses, Alchemy Academy also offers a large collection of online courses for food safety professionals including accredited HACCP and PCQI training and official SQF eLearning.
