Des Moines, Iowa – The International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) is now accepting submissions for symposia and roundtables for the 2025 IAFP European Symposium on Food Safety, to be held in Madrid, Spain, from May 6-8, 2025. IAFP also welcomes nominations for the IAFP Europe Food Safety Award and applications for the European Student Travel Scholarship.
The deadline for symposia and roundtable submissions is Tuesday, Dec. 17. No late submissions will be accepted. Proposals must be submitted using the association’s online submission program located on the IAFP website.
For the second year, the IAFP Europe Food Safety Award will recognize an active IAFP Member from Europe for dedicated and exceptional contributions to the profession of food safety in Europe. The award consists of a plaque and €2500 monetary support, i.e., €1000 honorarium plus €1500 (maximum) travel and accommodation costs to attend the IAFP European Symposium on Food Safety, at which the awardee will be recognized. The nomination deadline for this award is Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025.
The European Student Travel Scholarship provides travel funding for two full-time students to attend IAFP’s European Symposium on Food Safety. This travel scholarship encourages developing scientists to participate in association activities. Travel scholarships will be awarded to graduate and undergraduate students living in Europe and enrolled full-time at a college or university in Europe in a food safety-related degree program. The application deadline for this travel scholarship is Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025.

Since 2005, IAFP's European symposium has been shaping the future of food safety by providing a forum for the exchange of ideas with colleagues from across Europe working in industry, government and academia.
