Wall Street Journal - A Coca-Cola plant in Yemen was destroyed by apparent Saudi-led coalition airstrikes, the latest civilian infrastructure to be hit in a nine-month conflict.
The bottling facility was closed for maintenance and there were no reports of casualties, according to Coca-Cola Co., which confirmed the facility had been hit by airstrikes.
Five strikes hit the beverage plant in the Dares neighborhood north of the capital city San’a on Tuesday night, “totally destroying”’ the facility, according to a local security official. Houses in the area also were destroyed, the official added Thursday.
